June 17, 2003. It took me almost ten months to finish the first sock, and three weeks to finish the second (in my defense, Christmas did slow me down, as well as the fact that I was waiting for a replacement needle from Brittany that never came).

finished Mexiko socks

I was almost able to make them identical, but I somehow missed it by a few rows at the heel. But they're pretty close, so I'm happy.

May 21, 2003. At long last, I finally sat down and finished the first sock:

This sock only took me nine and a half months to knit! Don't worry, I was working on other things at the time.

Maybe we'll see the second sock sometime next year!

October 22, 2002. Socks right now:

I stopped about a month ago when a needle broke, and I'm still waiting for my replacement needle from Brittany (it hasn't been too long; it took me a few weeks to email them about it).

August 13, 2002. Socks so far:

socks on August 13

These are so much fun to work on. I feel like I have to finish each color when I sit down to knit, just to see what it's going to look like.

August 6, 2002. I started a pair of socks, just to keep in my bag in case I get stuck waiting somewhere. They're in Opal Mexiko, colorway 17. I'm not sure how I feel about these colors right now, but I think they'll go well with my red clogs. I think the red and yellow together were alarming to me because they looked too McDonald's. I feel better now that another color is working its way in there. I'm doing these on size 1 (US) needles, but for some reason these seem to be going much faster than the Cascade Fixation socks, which were on size 4 needles.
