July 3, 2003. I had a lot of yarn leftover when I finished the Opal Mexiko socks for myself, so I decided to make a pair of baby socks.
I realize now I should have put a quarter in the picture for perspective. Maybe you can tell how little they are when you look at how much wider the stripes are than the ones on the adult socks. As you can see, I didn't even bother trying to get the socks to match. It would have been a waste of yarn. I still have some yarn leftover, so I've cast on for a baby hat. (Edited later to add: I cast on for the hat, didn't have enough yarn, ripped it out, and am not going to worry about a matching hat for now.)
