February 23, 2004. Ok, so here's what's happening:

  • We're finally moving this Thursday, Feb. 26.
  • We still, at this point, have an awful lot of packing to do. Thankfully, my mom is coming today to help. Who knew that having a baby would put such a crimp in packing? Well, yeah, I guess most anyone would know that, actually.
  • I am completely loving my library class this semester, but it's a ton of work.
  • Henry has a tooth. He got it on Valentine's Day. It's all cute and jaggedy and razor sharp. The one next to it looks like it's going to poke through any day.
  • Henry turned six months old last Thursday (Feb. 19).
  • The orange paint we picked for our new house looks excellent. Our dining room is the color of Cheetos. Pictures of everything will be posted after we move, and once we're settled and I can breathe. And once the DSL connection is up and running. Apparently it takes a few days to get it up, but at least they give us free dial-up in the interim.

January 14, 2003. Henry has a new hat.

January 13, 2003. I feel the need to update, though I'm not sure I have much to update. We haven't moved yet, but are really hoping to move by the end of January. Though if we have to move in February, that would be ok too. Our lives have pretty much been taking over by prepping and painting (who knew prepping could take so long?). But now three rooms are painted, so at least it looks like we're making progress. We have decided to paint most of the house orange which is something I never would have expected, but so far it looks great.

December 25, 2003. Henry says: Merry Christmas!

First, a picture of him in his holiday finery, complete with bow tie:

I think fascination with Christmas presents must be an instinct. Henry is riveted. Here he is with his first gift:

O Christmas Tree...

December 24, 2003. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. It's been a while since I posted anything. Sorry. I've been busy!

Dave's been working like crazy on the house. He's been prepping all the walls for painting, which is a huge task, really. A lot of the old plaster walls need to be secured and there's all kind of old paint that needs to be removed or at least sanded. And of course there's lead paint in bits throughout the house, so Henry and I can't really be there to help. We're hoping to move sometime next month.

Here's how 4-month-old Henry is looking these days:

This was his first adventure in the backpack. Here's another picture (since I'm updating so infrequently, I might as well give you two pictures); it's the same "resting on the pillow" type of picture as below, but I figured out he can hold his arms under his chin:

Ok, off to check on the pumpkin pie. Happy holidays, everyone!
