August 19, 2002. A few weeks ago I got the book Organizing from the Inside Out by Julie Morgenstern, and I'm really hoping this book gets me organized once and for all. So far it's very promising. I've gotten to the root of my reasons for being so disorganized, which is really the core of the whole "inside out" thing. This past weekend I tackled my horrendous linen closet (it was impossible to pull out a towel without pulling down all the towels, as well as getting clocked in the forehead with a bottle of saline solution) and rearranged the home office some. The pinnacle of my organizing weekend was pretty much when I stopped everything and redid my bookcase in the Dewey Decimal system. Much better. I was alarmed to discover I had two copies of some books, right there on the same shelf. At any rate, I'm trying to take this whole organization thing slowly, so that it actually sticks this time.

August 18, 2002. Shannon and Anezka came up to visit yesterday! We had great fun. I inherently trust anyone who knows instinctively where everything is in my kitchen. Too bad she had to go back to defending the homeland and couldn't stay longer. I am completely in love with Anezka, though the cats were nonplused. Peatie wanted absolutely nothing to do with this bitsy dog creature. Theo was more intent on establishing that he is the king of his domain. And he did concede to a requisite sniffing of Anezka's hindquarters, just to see what that was all about. Shannon is totally fun and excellent. She had better come back to visit soon. Or better yet, just move here. I went into my best hyper-tourguide mode to try to show her the wonder that is Portland, Maine.

I'm not going to write much more, because Dreamweaver has inexplicably lost all my FTP settings, and damned if I remember what they were. So who knows? Maybe this update will live on my desktop forever, and World of Julie will never be updated again.

Postscript: I still haven't figured it out. I updated manually, which takes 50,000 times as long as doing it through Dreamweaver. If anyone can tell me what my "remote info" should be in Dreamweaver 4, I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks.

Post-postscript: Never mind! The incredibly helpful and quick support desk at OLM.net (my host) helped me.
