August 13, 2002. I have been cracking up over Lori's chickens all day. She heard a tapping at her back door, and looked out to find this. What I love is that our cats do this same thing. It would be so funny to look out your door and see chickens.

August 12, 2002. I love it when people with digital cameras visit me! Instant photos!
Here I am. Anne says I look like I'm avoiding the paparazzi. This is on Battleship Island, an island (and house) in the middle of Little Sebago Lake that we looked at just to see if Anne's mom might want to buy it. I thought the house was really cool, but Anne thought her mom might not be too hot on the propane toilet. Or on climbing up a ladder to fill a five-gallon bucket with hot water for a shower. And now you can finally see what I made Anne for her birthday! As well as the other thing I made at the same time.

August 11, 2002. The lemonade layer cake was really yummy last night. If you like lemons, and cake, you'll really like it. Unfortunately, we didn't get too eat much of it, because we were all too full from lobster. Though I suppose life's not too bad if the situation is "can't eat cake; too full from lobster." --------------- Dave and I went to look at another foreclosure house today. It was really rural, which is fine, and was on a pretty nice piece of property, which was heavily wooded. The house though, ugh. It looked like the previous owners had trashed it before they left. And as we were peering in through the door, it really smelled like poo. Now, while one of my major house-buying necessities is "cheap, cheap, cheap," another, more important necessity is "doesn't smell like poo." Yuck. Crossing that one off the list. |
