April 26, 2002. I don't know what's up with my sudden lapse into an Irish dialect in the last entry ("walking from the kitchen to me office"). Don't worry: random-dialect-of-the-week is not the future for World of Julie. That would get awfully tedious. SNOWED. They kept saying it would, and I didn't believe it. We got a few inches. I keep hearing birds singing in this distressful birdsong that seems to be saying, "What the hell is this?"

April 24, 2002. Had a great time at Mom's. She made this Greek Tomato Tart, which was delicious. So good, in fact, that I made it myself last night. She also made a salad with avocados and oranges in it, and now I'm completely obsessed with avocados (this happens every year...in a month I'll be obsessed with mangos). Thanks to everyone who wrote me that they were worried about Theo and his UTI. He's fine now. He's not completely happy about his twice-daily pilling, but we only have to do it for a few more days. He's gotten really good at spitting the pills out, not fun since one of the pills is blue and, after having been shoved down his throat, leaves blue stuff all over my fingers and Theo's chin. I was walking from the kitchen to me office today, and walked by this woman who looked so familiar to me. I had an extremely slow-motion early-morning thought process as I realized that we went to high school together. By the time I realized this, she was gone (I could have run after her, but I wasn't entirely sure it was actually her). I had to sit and think for a moment to come up with her full name, and then I checked, and she was in the company email system! So I emailed her, and about three seconds later we met in the lobby. So fun! And strange! I haven't seen her since we graduated in 1989. We lived in the same dorm, and knew each other, but not that well. We had a lot of friends in common. Anyway, she lives here in Maine, and we're going to make sure we see each other. I'm also going to send something to the alumni magazine, so we can see if anyone else is around here. It was sort of a mind-boggling start to my day.
